Description

Load development is an integral part of precision shooting and any long-range applications. Your time is a precious commodity, and reloading, trips to the range, and mulling over data can consume a lot of it. That is why we have developed a Custom Load Development service here at Holley Ammunition. To get you the custom ammunition your precision rifle loves and shoots the best, without you spending your free time at the reloading bench. You can reach out to us to get started by email at sales@holleyammunition.com or messaging us on Facebook or Instagram!

How it works:

  • When you reach out to us for a load development cycle, we will discuss by phone, email, or in person what your goals are for the load, any specific bullet, case, or primer requirements you have, and discuss the rifle build itself. (Modern, common use, rifle calibers ONLY).
  • We will then set up a date for you to bring us your rifle, check it into our shop per ATF guidelines, and discuss a timeframe for completion (if applicable). Please expect a minimum of 2-3 weeks for the development.
  • We will then begin our process of load development for the rifle using proven methods, precise measuring tools, and a statistically valid shooting schedule.
  • Once a load is developed that meets both your requirements, and our standards, we will contact you about how many rounds you’d like to add to your order.
  • Your developed load will then be filed under your name and rifle, so when you need more ammo, all you have to do is email us at sales@holleyammunition.com or message us on Facebook or Instagram.
  • Once you pick up your rifle and ammunition, a laminated proof target showing at least 3 consecutive 5-shot groups of your developed load will be provided to you.
    • Stats for your load such as average velocity based on a 15-20 shot sample, the Extreme Spread, Standard Deviation, and average overall group size will be listed on the proof target
    • The proof target may change to 3rd groups depending on the type of rifle (pencil profile varmint rifle vs. 1.25″ straight competition rifle).

Pricing:

  • Load Development on a broken in rifle will start as a flat rate of $500 ($250 deposit due at scheduling)
  • Load Development of a brand-new unfired rifle will start as a flat rate of $650 ($300 deposit due at scheduling)
    • break-in will include firing of roughly 100 rounds, and cleaning prior to development. (expect lead time to be a minimum 4-5 weeks).
  • Based on the number of rounds we shoot to get your load done, our component cost will be added to the remaining balance.
    • example: if it takes 70 rounds to complete your load, and our component cost per round is $1.05/rd, $73.50 will be added to your remaining balance
  • Minimum order of 100rds at the completion of the development.
  • Get 15% off if the order is at or over 200rds.

Changes to existing load development:

  • You have already had load development done by Holley Ammunition, and we have your load on file.
    • The flat rate for the modified development is subject to change depending on that you want to change. This will need to be discussed either in person or on a scheduled phone call
    • The number of rounds used to arrive at the new updated load will be added to the remaining balance
    • The same minimum order will apply.
    • Your new updated load will also be filed with your original load.

In adherence with safe reloading practices, we will not accept or distribute any specific load “recipes”. Unless agreed upon at the scheduling of the development (this may change your development price dependent on caliber).

Note: data gathered during your load development WILL change if/when you shoot the ammo in different weather conditions. Please keep in mind that temperature, wind, altitude, and atmospheric pressure all play a role in a bullet’s performance, especially out to distance. Your rifle will be zeroed at the conclusion of the load development.
